What is Hatha Yoga?

Hatha Yoga is a very traditional style in which we aim the balance between body and mind.

Focused on the “physical” aspect of Yoga we practice it through physical exercises (Asana), through breathing exercises (Pranayama) and meditation.
Hatha means strength or force in Sanskrit, to underline the effort for the postures.
“HA” stands for Sun (power, heating principle.

“THA” stands for Moon (silence, cooling principle).

We can also associate it with hot and cold, male and female, yin and yang, and so on…

It’s each other opposite energies, as we practice in Hatha. The symphony of holding postures and relaxation.
We will hold the postures in Hatha for a few breaths, to get the benefits out of the posture and also feel the deep relaxation afterwards.

There is usually no transition from one to the other posture, as in Vinyasa.

Try it 🙂
